Wait Until Done

Make Song, Remove Vocals, Vocals Only and Make Stems have a Wait Until Done switch, on by default.

  • On: the action holds, showing progress, until the job is finished. The Job it returns has Files, ready for Save File, Quick Look, AirDrop or Mail. A failed or cancelled job stops the shortcut and says why.
  • Off: the action returns the queued Job at once. Pass it to Get Job Status later to see its Status, Progress and Song ID.

Songs take minutes (about 1¼ for 0:30). Versions take seconds. Either way the job keeps going in ChorusPop if the shortcut stops.

From the terminal: shortcuts run

Any shortcut runs from a shell or a script, with no window. Build a shortcut named “Song from Text” whose first action is Make Song with Lyrics set to Shortcut Input, and whose last is Get Details of Job — Files. Then:

printf '[verse]\nNeon on the river\n[chorus]\nTurn it up\n' > lyrics.txt
shortcuts run "Song from Text" --input-path lyrics.txt --output-path ~/Desktop/neon.m4a
shortcuts list | grep -i song # your shortcuts that make songs
shortcuts run "Song from Clipboard" # the clipboard example above

The direct download also has the command-line tool, which is quicker to script than a shortcut.

Siri and Spotlight

Two actions are ready without building anything: say or search “Make a song with ChorusPop” or “Find songs in ChorusPop”.
